Duck Night Rices
Ducks exemplify adaptability, preparedness, independence, and pragmatic idealism - essential values that we aim to adopt. By going with the flow, we can adapt to changes quickly and effectively, listen to the student population, take their views and needs into account and make school life better for them. By being prepared and independent, we will be able to work hard to benefit the school population. We are realistic in what we do and will make full use of our resources to pursue an ideal positive outcome for the betterment of the school.
The night casts everything into shadows, allowing guardians and revolutionaries to quietly change the world for the better, promoting a sense of humility. We aim to refrain from attracting unnecessary attention to ourselves as we put everything we have into serving the school. Furthermore, the mascot of Athena, our faculty, is an owl - an animal of the night. ‘Night’ also sounds similar to ‘Knight’, which exemplify the chivalrous and courageous traits that we aim to have.
The word ‘rices’ stems from our deep appreciation for rice farmers and the hard work and determination that they put in to provide everyone with sustenance. As such, the word ‘rices’ encapsulates our desire to emulate the positive qualities of sincerity and perseverance that the rice farmers embody.
