Aethon
A symbolic flaming war horse in Greek and Roman mythology, the word "Aethon" also directly translates to "burning", "shining" and "blazing" from Ancient Greek, symbolizing our burning passion for service to the school and the student body, and our duty to uphold our school values, ensuring that the glory of Hwa Chong would continue to shine brightly for generations to come.
Aethon also exemplifies the value of humility. Despite its exceptional strength and abilities, Aethon continued to serve with passion and verve while remaining loyal and true to its owner. Similarly, we hope to emulate this sense of humility while fostering a caring and conducive environment for all Hwa Chong students.
As such, Aethon is the most appropriate group name for our group as it personifies the visions that we have for Hwa Chong, and encapsulates the strength and perseverance students aim to model after during their two years in college.
